Error on run

Just installed DV7toDV8 (app, not script) on an older Mac, running 10.13.6. On my first run, I get this error:

mkvtoolnix dropped support for macOS 10.13 in v42.0, so I think you need to install v41.0 and then use the option in the DV7 to DV8 Settings app to enable Use system tools.

I would recommend:

• Install Homebrew
• In Terminal:
  • Install mkvtoolnix: brew install mkvtoolnix
  • Install dovi_tool: brew install dovi_tool

If you can get those to compile and install for macOS 10.13, you should be able to enable the option to use them in the Settings app, approve the security controls, and hopefully be good to go.

No luck - 10.13 is too old for even the Homebrew versions of the tools. Thanks for the suggestion nonetheless.

You could try:

• Downloading dovi_tool releases and running them until you find one that runs without complaint (not sure on compatible versions there)
• Copy that dovi_tool into /Applications/DV7 to DV8.app/Contents/Resources/tools/
• Downloading MKVToolNix v41.0
• Extracting the .app from the dmg
• Grabbing mkvmerge, mkvextract, and the libs/libQt* files from the MKVToolNix.app and replacing the copies in /Applications/DV7 to DV8.app/Contents/Resources/tools/
