The team behind Virtual Desktops at Microsoft seems pretty developer-hostile and have deliberately omitted any useful programmatic API surface from the Virtual Desktops feature from the Win32 API. Read more here: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/oldnewthing/20201123-00/?p=104476 There is also a very big shortcoming of the native Virtual Desktops feature, which is that monitors cannot have their own Virtual Desktops; each Virtual Desktop must span across every monitor. In Ideally I would have liked to have integrated more with the native Virtual Desktops feature. But the team behind it at Microsoft doesn't want me or other developers to do that, and they regularly break reverse-engineered code to integrate with Virtual Desktops with Windows Updates. |

I am just getting used to it, and thanks to Komorebi, I realized the usefulness of WMs.
While I tried yabai on macOS, I found that it uses macOS's native desktop (called space) management.
So now I am curious, It looks way more difficult to implement your own system, why did you do it as it is now?
