Allow to split editor into existing group

If I have two groups, and I split the editor in group 1, then it creates a new group between group 1 and 2.

Please make it possible to instead split the editor in group 1 into a new tab of the same file, in group 2, rather than creating a new group.

Perhaps have a setting like maxGroupsCount and if I set it to 2, then don't create more groups than 2?
