Should the Root Data Entity (Dataset) have at least the minimum RO-Crate stuff?

This is an issue for all profiles - but should the profile have at least enough properties (datePublished, Publisher) make a minimum viable crate?

I think it might be good for profiles such as this to include an optional author or creator, and have Person and Organization (at least) included in the profile with some guidance on how to make a good stand-alone RO-Crate.

Do you mean the profile metadata itself should make a good (profile) crate? Or that crates following the profile should have this metadata?

I think the latter case is covered by the base spec, as all crates should be following the base spec in addition to any profiles.
