PayPal outdated SDK version causing increased card processing fees #952

Issue description

I have just received a call from PayPal who informed me that if we upgraded our SDK version we could pay (in the order of ~1%) lower transaction fees.

After some confusion, he understood we were using it via the Braintree dropin and told us he was unable to provide any help, but I should contact Braintree directly...

This is ridiculous! Braintree is owned by PayPal and we are now paying higher fees to punish us for using an old integration which is itself provided by an arm of PayPal!

There are open “v2” issues about upgrading the PayPal integrations since 2020. Could you please consider upgrading the PayPal SDK as a separate (and critical) issue rather than assigning it to the vapourware “v2” dropin rewrite?
