One challenge with the automated testing experiment we did is that plugins can require some amount of configuration upon activation. And, unfortunately, there's know way to know what configuration is required without a human.
However, if we could gain access to existing WordPress databases, then our system could know how the average WordPress user configures a specific plugin (based on the data stored in the database).
