If it applied only to "eau", I would eventually be okay with the third one (considering water can be spotted on aerial photography), not the others.

Actually, "eau drôme" and "drôme" return the same results.

"eau drôme" might be too specific a request for a search engine indexing only the most popular datasets.

None of the datasets returned by the standard search engine for this request are part of the shortlist indexed by the experimental one:

As a side note, the list given by the standard search engine seems quite good to me. Most of those datasets have very poor meta-data though. The "Drôme" geographic cover in particular is never present (eventhough some of those datasets were harvested on departemental portals)
