Describe the project you are working on

any game

Describe the problem or limitation you are having in your project

There is no possibility to have two scripts open simultaneously and/or side by side.

Describe the feature / enhancement and how it helps to overcome the problem or limitation

by adding the ability to have tabs or opening additional script or shader files in a new tab or Side by side. this can be done via a right clicking on the file and "open in new tab" or by dragging the file to the side of code editor( not sure about this though)

Describe how your proposal will work, with code, pseudo-code, mock-ups, and/or diagrams

look above

If this enhancement will not be used often, can it be worked around with a few lines of script?

this is rather an internal feature.

Is there a reason why this should be core and not an add-on in the asset library?

I can't answer this.
