Updating your instance of {{site.data.keyword.openpages_short}} to the latest software version

When a new version of the {{site.data.keyword.openpages_short}} software is available, you can update to the new version immediately, or you can schedule an update within the next 30 days. By default, the software update is scheduled to occur 30 days after the release date. {: shortdesc}

To update the {{site.data.keyword.openpages_short}} software, do the following steps:

1. Click Software update.

2. If you want to run the update immediately, click Update now. You can click Update now even if you have already scheduled an update for a future date and time.

3. If you want to schedule an update to occur earlier than the default, click Schedule.

   • Choose a date within 30 days of the release date.
   • Click Confirm.

   Tip: If you decide to change the date later, click Schedule and select a different date.

When the software update begins to run, you can’t schedule or run another update for a few minutes. While the update is running, the instance is offline for 30 minutes to an hour. Ensure that you inform your end users to avoid accessing the {{site.data.keyword.openpages_short}} instance until the software update is complete.
