Feature request: command to create a new Task in ./.vscode/tasks.json

There seems to be no obvious way to automate the creation of tasks.json. It would be nice if there were a command to "add a new task" that would

• create tasks.json if it doesn't already exist and add a blank task, or
• add a new blank task to the existing tasks.json

Thoughts?

The command "Tasks: Configure Task" will create the tasks.json file, but we don't have a command to create a new task in the tasks.json file.
