I filed a new legal ticket for guidance on this one. My previous note referred to other CLA changes we had requested. |
Advice from our legal team is that the ICLA already references the OpenJS Foundation as the "Project" so it's not worth the effort to make this change, unless this is part of a larger set of changes. |
Per conversation in today's CPC call we agreed to close this out. We will revisit if we have more substantial changes to the CLA. |
I happened to notice that the upstream Apache CLAs have been updated sometime since their adoption in #583 as a base for those of the OpenJS. The texts look mostly the same, but at least this concern that I raised in #583 (comment) has been addressed:
The current texts of the Apache ICLA and CCLA refer to the "Foundation" rather than the "Project", which makes it significantly clearer that it's not specific to a single project, but to all projects under the foundation.
Could the OpenJS CLAs be rebased on the current Apache CLAs?
