Missing licence?

This seems like it's intended to be somewhat open source, but since it doesn't come with a licence (that I can find, at least) I have to assume it's strictly copyright. If that is unintentional, please clarify!

Thanks @kqr - it indeed was an important omission. I do want it to be public domain (so even the ISC license is too restrictive to my taste for this project, I'd just make it public domain). So I initially thought I'd use: https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/

However - this work is not only mine anymore. Especially @TravisCardwell made significant contributions - so I don't think it's appropriate (legal?) for me to license it at this point.

@TravisCardwell - is it all good for you to put this under public domain with the license I linked above? I'm happy to go ahead with your approval.
