Wrong UTC time #412
Comments
Currently I can see the exact same problem on an on older version namely |
After reading this comment, I concuded, that the clock on my RC30 thermostat also seems to be unaware of the daylight saving time, and I guess that needs to be manually corrected? |
its the same code since v3.0 and I'm sure after 2am you would have seen the same issue. Can you try a different NTP server like one from https://www.pool.ntp.org/zone/europe |
@proddy Thanks, cz.pool.ntp.org works fine for me. |
Regarding the manual time setting the dst is not calculated and give wrong setting. I'm not sure if it is better/possible to extract this from timezone-setting or add a checkbox to set dst. |
@MichaelDvP I believe that having a reliable default NTP time would also be welcome since the time syncs with thermostats and, as a consequence, predefined heating schedule shifts. And such shift/incorrect time is hard to recognize and can not be fixed by correcting time on the physical termostat (it syncs back). |
fix #412, daylightsaving with manual time setting
I've fixed the manual setting with dst. |
Bug description
After installing the 3.4.0b9 version (updating from 3.3.1 today), ems-esp shows wrong UTC time. It is shifted by 1 hour, regardless of manual input or NTP. I am in the Prague/Europe time zone. I suspect this to be related to the change of winter-to-summer time.
Steps to reproduce
Change time manually or turn on NTP.
Expected behavior
Correct time to be shown. Currently, the time is shifted by 1 hour.
Screenshots

Correct time is shown in the statusbar. Correct UTC is that time minus 2 hours.
